Working with us
Working with us is more than choosing a package and getting a gallery. It is the calls beforehand, the way we help you feel comfortable and the space we leave for your day to happen as it really does. These four ideas are a big part of how we work.
What those words mean
What this looks like on the day.
These are not just words we liked for the page. They are things we actually think about before and during every wedding, elopement and session.
Anticipation
Before the day, we learn who matters most to you and which relationships deserve extra attention. That helps us anticipate the reactions, quiet moments and half-seconds that cannot be recreated. We never force emotion; we simply understand your people well enough to be ready when it appears.
Connection
Most people are at least a little nervous about being photographed. We get to know you beforehand, arrive early enough to feel familiar and give you prompts when you need them. Once you are comfortable, we step back and let you forget about us.
Celebration
You invited your favourite people because you want to spend time with them. We shape the timeline so portraits have enough room without pulling you away from the celebration all day. When something better than the plan is happening, we follow it.
Movement
Movement is a huge part of our work because stiff posing rarely feels like the people in front of us. We would rather have you walk, dance, breathe and interact the way you normally do. Sometimes we use intentional blur to give a photograph more energy and feeling.
Cam + Abby
A shared way of seeing.
From the first call to the final gallery, you get both of us, Cam and Abby. We both learn what matters to you, who your people are and which parts of the day you care about most.
One of us can stay with the main moment while the other notices what is happening around it: a parent watching, a friend wiping away tears or two people reaching for each other.
We care about beautiful portraits, but we are just as sentimental about the little reactions that grow more important with time. We want the future version of you to remember who was there and what it actually felt like.

Elopements in BC and Alberta
Elopements
An elopement is not a smaller wedding. It is room to be intentional. That might mean a quiet ceremony near home, a full afternoon exploring together or an alpine route that begins before sunrise. We help shape the place, pace and coverage around the experience.
Every elopement collection includes

- Adventure-specific logistics when needed
- Sneak peeks, a complete online gallery and personal printing rights
Adventure proposals are built around the route, access, permits, terrain, light and the amount of time the experience needs. You receive one clear price rather than a pile of hiking surcharges.
Couples storytelling sessions
Couples Sessions
We choose a place that feels right, give you enough direction to stop thinking about the camera and make photographs out of the way you already are together. No performance and no pressure to turn the session into something it is not.

What is your photography style?
Our style blends thoughtful direction with documentary storytelling. We step in when a moment could benefit from movement, intention or a more polished editorial feel, then step back to anticipate emotion and let the day unfold. Our editing is classic and nostalgic, with motion blur and what Cam calls “ghosting” used to add energy and another dimension to the photographs.
How do we know if Summit & Sage is the right fit for us?
If you are sentimental, feel at home with our goofy personalities and want your photographs to feel like more than a checklist, we will likely be a great fit. You do not need to know how to pose, but you do need to care about the photographs and be willing to give the process time, trust and a little creative energy.
We feel awkward in front of the camera. Will you help us?
Absolutely. We use movement, play and simple direction to help you loosen up instead of holding stiff poses. Your partner is your anchor, so we will help you lean into each other, breathe and focus on the person you already know and love.
Will both of you photograph our day?
Yes, we always photograph together. Because we know how each other works, one of us can stay focused on the main moment while the other watches what is happening around it. You receive two trusted perspectives without us bringing someone unfamiliar into your day.
Do you travel for weddings and elopements?
Yes. We travel throughout British Columbia, Alberta and beyond, charging only the direct cost of the transportation and accommodation required for your celebration. We also keep a small bucket list of destinations where we may waive the photography fee when travel and accommodation are covered, so tell us where you are dreaming of going.
How do we choose the right amount of coverage?
Coverage should give your day room to breathe instead of turning it into a checklist. If you want both getting ready and the dance floor documented, eight hours is usually the best fit. We will talk through your priorities and locations so there is enough time for real moments and our strongest work.
How many photographs will we receive, and when?
We typically deliver around 40–50 edited photographs per hour of coverage, but we do not promise a fixed number because every celebration unfolds differently. We photograph what is genuinely happening rather than padding a gallery to meet a quota. Sneak peeks arrive within one week, and your complete gallery within 12 weeks.
