We met because of a camera
We are Cam and Abby, partners in life and the two lead photographers behind Summit & Sage.

Cam posted in a hiking group looking for people who liked photography and taking their time. Abby answered. We met at Pitt Lake, photographed her Subaru and finished the evening with a beer at Foamers Folly. Neither of us called it a date.
Sunset hikes, cameras and spontaneous plans became our thing. Abby was determined to keep us in the friend zone. Then came a road trip to Jasper, a conversation beside the fire and a shared tent. Abby kissed Cam.
Pretty much inseparable since.

Meet Cam.
Before all this, I had a whole other life! I held a finance designation and managed retirement portfolios, and somewhere along the way I realized I'd rather be chasing golden hour in the mountains than sitting at a desk talking about index funds.
Best decision I ever made.
When I'm not shooting I'm probably building a travel plan somewhere remote with Abby. The further off the beaten path I can get, the happier I am. Crowded tourist spots are a hard pass for me.
I'm also genuinely terrified of the deep ocean, so if your elopement is on a cliff above it we're golden, but in it? We're going to need to talk.
Abby is my partner in all of it. Summit & Sage is something the two of us built together from the ground up, and honestly, this whole business runs on the way we see the world together.
My Approach:
Honestly I just try to disappear. The second a camera comes out most people tense up, and I get it nobody wants to feel like they're being stared at all day. So my whole thing is making the camera the least interesting part of the experience.
We'll wander, we'll talk, I'll throw out an idea here and there, and somewhere in the middle of all that the real moments start showing up on their own. That's what I'm there for. I think a lot about light and composition before I even press the shutter. I'll usually have the shot mapped out in my head and I'm just waiting for you two to walk into it.
It's less "say cheese" and more like quietly building little scenes around you and letting you live inside them for a while.
If you want someone who'll show up, care way too much about your day, probably cry a little, and maybe rope you into a side quest for better light I'm your guy.
Can't wait to meet you. 🙂

Meet Abby.
Being born and raised in South Africa, it shaped who I am, how I see the world, and honestly, it never really left me.
I spent 15 years dancing on horses and competing for both South Africa and Canada in the sport of Equestrian Vaulting.
I’m unapologetically obsessed with ABBA. . If it ever comes on I will be dancing!
I’m Dsylexic and will most likely say or spell your name wrong. I live by my calendar and will absolutely get my dates mixed up if they aren’t in there.
Cam's girlfriend and creative partner which means this business was quite literally built on love.

My Approach:
My photography is warm and cinematic, with a guided documentary approach. What that really means is I'm watching for the quiet moments, the giggle before the kiss, the hand squeeze nobody else caught. That's what I'm after.
I'm not a "stand here, look there" photographer. I'll guide you when you need it by setting up scenes and giving prompts so nothing ever feels awkward, stiff, or posed.
My goal is that when you look back at your photos in 20 years, they feel like a memory not a photoshoot. And on the day itself, I want it to feel like an experience where you actually get to connect with each other.
So if you're looking for someone who will document your love story with authenticity, warmth, and a deep appreciation for connection you're in the right place.
I want your photos to feel like a beautifully crafted experience for you. Nostalgic, cinematic, and timeless.
My goal is to make you feel comfortable, cared for, and fully seen.
I can't wait to meet you.
With Love

Why photography matters to us.
Cam
It starts with wild, quiet places like the mountains, coastlines, forests that still feel untouched. Anywhere that makes you feel small in the best possible way. Those places shaped me long before I ever picked up a camera, and they're still where I feel most like myself and where I know I do my best work.
There's something about standing in a landscape that's been there for thousands of years that makes you realize what actually matters, and I want my couples to feel that too.
I'm also weirdly inspired by intention, which I think comes from my background in finance and business. Why am I doing this, what do I want it to mean, what's the point and that carries into every shoot, so nothing I do is ever accidental.
I want my work to make people fall in love with wild places, not just consume them, because the more we love something the harder we'll fight to protect it.
Abby
Naturally I’m drawn to the connection between my couples, the people around me, and the wild places they choose to stand in. The moments that only happen when someone feels safe enough to just be.
Growing up in South Africa surrounded by wildlife, wide open spaces, adventure and nature shaped my perspective. They aren't just a backdrop to me, they're deeply personal. It's where I feel the most grounded and alive. When I shoot in the mountains or on a coastline, I'm partly telling my own story too.
15 years as an athlete taught me discipline, gave me an eye for detail, but it also made me an understand what it means to pour yourself into something. I want my couples to feel that same sense of purpose when they work with me.
Honestly? I'm inspired by my own love. Cam and I built this together from scratch, and that shapes how I see every couple in front of my lens.

What I Value:
The wild places we shoot in genuinely matter to me, so I'll always treat them with care by leaving them how we found them, looking out for the animals that call them home, and never treating nature like a set piece for content.
That's non-negotiable for me. The same goes for your day. It should belong to you, not your mom, not Pinterest, not some checklist of what a wedding is supposed to look like. What you actually want, in a place that actually means something. And honestly, the experience matters to me as much as the photos do.
You should walk away thinking that was one of the best days of my life, and then get the images to go with it.
Abby
What I value:
I value human connection on a deeper level and every emotion that comes with it.
I want to make space for you to feel comfortable and safe and completely yourself. I never rush it, and I will never make you feel awkward for having big feelings in front of my camera.
Our connection to nature runs deep. Travel and adventure inspired us to pick up our cameras, and we want our photographs to make people fall in love with wild places and care for them. South Africa and Lesotho brought that feeling home for us.
The trips we still talk about.
Taking Cam to South Africa meant sharing Abby's childhood places, family and friends. Our six-week plan fell apart almost as soon as we landed but we learned to adapt together and our connection grew stronger.

Six hours on horseback through cold fog into Lesotho. We were freezing and laughing, with mountain quiet and an impossible number of stars waiting at the other end.

Cold, muddy. Would do it again.
